So the stock S62 including oil pan fits?

Some people say it fits others say no. I was talking to my mechanic here in Greece who owns the car in the photos. The car was built 3 years ago and it was one of the first documented swaps in Europe. Since the car was being used for drift races only he did not mind if the E30 M3 insturment cluster will work therefore a modified race cluster has been fitted with independent vdo gauges . Back then an aftermarket ECU was the only way but thanks to all the worthless programmers over here we blown 2 engines and to be totally honest the vanos never worked (that is why I am asking about the stock ECU because I do not trust them down here). He told me that in order for the engine to be perfectly aligned and without the pan touching the subframe the engine must sit a little bit higher. On the other hand in order for everything to be perfect a modified oil pan must be fabricated but it was way to much hassle so they decided to build a plastic modified engine hood instead (which looked awful). When I saw the green car with the stock instruments, the perfect stance and the stock interior I said to myself maybe its time for a new project. But in order for me to start such a project I have to make sure that everything will look and work without any problems.

my mistake, you can use the stock oil pan, but it's always not the best solution.

TSAF - we have here racing cars with S5x engines and a E46 GTR S62 and they are running aftermarket ECU's. No problems whatsoever.
But you are correct, it all about finding a good tuner. I suggest to look one for in Germany, that's the closest to you.

I thought the s62 needs the stock ecu to control the oil pump set-up under high G conering to stop starvation.

Plus on e30.de there are few threads about reflahing the ecu to do away with the ews, wheel speed input etc

I know the post on the E30.de but everything is in German. I have send the guys an email and I am expecting their answer. The point is to buy something of the "shelf" otherwise as I said before the Ecu tuners in my country are worthless.

You can't do a swap with the stock ECU that i know of... too CAN dependant. We've built multiple M62 and now M65 standalones for swaps. They fully control VANOS and electronic throttles, and use all stock sensors including knock control.

whats a good ecu that can control all 8 spark signals instead of using a wasted spark setup?

                            Ecu

We recommend the Pectel SQ-6. It has 12 injection and 8 ignition outputs standard, and can also control dual fly-by-wire motors AND 4 cam vanos, all out of one box.

Neel I need the stock ECU, not an aftermarket one.
