They also didn't mention that the M10 block is the same one used in the Brabhams BT50 and BT52 championship winning F1 car. There isn't any other car except Ferrari that has such racing heritage as...

Freude,
That is a sad story.
I just want to add that even if you didn't see your temp needle rise that doesn't mean that the engine didn't overheat.
Unfortunately if you suffered a large loss...
That's the E30 M3 in a nutshell. If anyone asks me about our car these are the links I'll send them.
One point I love is how easy it is to see the road in the E30. It gives the driver pinpoint...
Be careful what you wish for. Money and time will disappear. They are all pretty much the same.
+1 truth. While I was doing the o-ring replacement my OEM pressure switch was leaking a ton of oil too. I forgot to mention that in my previous post.
You need the O ring kit from the dealer or online vendor. Best to remove the oil filter mount from the block to replace those rings.
Yes, bled the whole system. The pedal is solid and not mushy or spongy. It just travels too far to engage I think.
I wonder if this has something to do with the ABS pump perhaps. As it is now its...
Resurrecting this thread because I agree with the OP. I've replaced the pads with Hawk HPs, stainless brake lines, new rotors, and new master cylinder. Bled the crap out of the lines and the pedal...
Not sure what you did testing this but I had popping sounds with the OEM radio too. Sent it to the Radioman in San Diego and it works great now.
That's an interesting tid bit of info I was not aware of.
That's some serious deep dish pizza rims.
To each his own I guess. I don't judge it's your car your money.
I'm afraid to go to local cars shows here in NJ because my car is daily driven...
Obviously an engine swap. But who really did it is up to the potential buyer to figure out. Seems too high mileage for such a "rare car".
If it does snap off flush drill it and clean the threads with a tap. We've all been there one time or another. :-(

Evap relay behind coolant reservoir.
Or bad rectifier diodes in alternator.
Other areas to look at are brakes. Are the caliper bushings new?
Rubber brake hoses ok? On long trips my rear caliper would lightly lock up it was worn rubber bushings.
Master cylinder?
Also...
I had a dogleg trans on my Porsche and it was annoying as hell to use on the street.
If you get stuck in traffic a lot then it gets old quick. The normal H pattern is better suited for stop go...
There are no free lunches in life. I think what he said has some truth to it.
Anytime you try to extract more power from an engine you will put more stress on the internals.
With that said I...
You may have fried something in the alternator. If you drained your battery does the alternator get warm to the touch after sitting overnight? If so your rectifiers are burned out from no field...
I was squinting too just like Fry and wondering what was sticking out of the hood. Lol
So true. And naturally balanced too.
It's the woman with an awesome personality.
Horizontally opposed engines like the Porsche, VW and Subaru are pretty ugly. Nothing like a cleanly designed inline 4 or 6 that is nice to look at. :-). Just saying.
Can you elaborate. :-)
Seems like they do good work. I like supporting family owned businesses too.
I had my stock Alpine rebuilt. Then installed a 50w Alpine amp from Crutchfield.
Need to ditch the lame common ground for true twisted pair and the system sounds pretty good even with the original...
Awesome thanks. Can't get enough of the M3 power slide.
I just want to add that the nice thing about motorcycles is that you can rebuild one easily in your lifetime. A car can consume you. I know of marriages that ended because of car projects.
Burnout happens. For a decade I gave up on cars and was totally into motorcycles. Now the bikes just sit at the back of the garage and I work on my M and my Lotus.
They told me to make sure I kept the receipt in a safe place and it was a lifetime replacement guarantee for as long as I owned the car.
This may not be true for all dealers. Ask yours.
It's expensive but go BMW OEM from the dealer. Lifetime warranty.
Wow you 2002 guys have the nicest S14s! Go figure.
Shadye, if you want to sell you stock speakers later on PM me.
Thanks for this link. Going to make the test procedure part of my yearly tune up.
Got my radio back from the repair shop and it sounds great. I also installed a new Alpine 45w amp from Crutchfield and a new antenna from a forum member and my M3 is rockin out! Well worth all the...
For points 1 and 2 TADTS.
For point 3 check the simple things first that have been mentioned before. Also check your evap control relay behind the coolant reservoir on the firewall. This relay...
