Hi - the lips are painted only the hex nut is polished. You can split them and get them polished it you need to. Cheers.

Just thought I'd let you know that I fitted my new exhaust today and I used 2 x VW Part 1KO253141 instead of the expensive BMW items. Bolted up fine and nice fit!
