I think you should change every piece of the cars electrical system and then see if it still does the same thing. If it does you know its not a problem and if it does not you've fixed a major glitch.

The E28 M5 has increased in value in Europe in the last two years especially the RHD Uk versions, 8500 would be vary cheap for a clean original car in Europe at the moment.

The center caps were still available one year ago from BBS dealers at 100 dollars per cap
