I am restarting my thread because the previous post didn't really solve my mistery.
I am experiencing an annoying metallic rattle heard mostly when accelarating or deccelerating through the 2700 rpm...

I also have the E-36 tensioner installed, maybe a year ago or so.
I have had a two month period of no vibration in the meantime, though.

To be specific: the metallic vibration/resonace occurs mostly while accelerating or deccelerating around 3000 rpm.

I am really disappointed about the longevity of BMW OEM M3 motor mounts. I have changed them twice in the last 10 k miles. The latest ones lasted two months and unpleasant vibration is reappearing....

My 5 cents to cool down 1-series enthusiasts. I suggest that you test drive one first. Handling-wise E-90 3-series is very much superior. Also plastics inside have a very cheap feeling.
