Euro Ellipsoidal Headlight Wiring

Any pics of the finished product, wiring wise? I was at my dealer today getting the necessary hardware, but I noticed I have a some interesting wires behind the grill. I seem to have the gray plug and yellow plug just hanging, but I have sealed beams. Any ideas. Thanks in advance.

I'm not positive....but I think those plugs are for other options. The headlight wiper/washer harness and the washer nozzle heaters harness connect in that area. The connectors look the same a the euro headlight connectors.

All I know is that the water proof terminals w/wiring that are supposed to be used in those housings are expensive!!

OK guys, I attempted to do this installation over the weekend, and I realized that without a diode to connect to the low beams (my car has the sealed beams), when I switch to high beams, the outer low beams will turn off because unlike the single filament H1s, the sealed beams use a dual filament bulb.

Do the European spec cars and US spec cars with factory ellipsoids only have the inner high beams on when you switch to high beams? If that's the case, I won't bother wiring a diode to the lower beams.

You can jump the low beam relay so that the low beams stay on when switching to high beams. I have done this for many years.

But if you have HID's you don't want the outer lights coming on when you flash people.

Um... I think that you should ask some of the guys will cars in Europe if there low beams stay illuminated when they activate their high beams. I'm assuming they would.

I've already put together a wiring kit and will do a DIY as best as I can when I have the time to install everything. Since I'm rockin' Henna my car came with sealed beams, so I will also have to wire in a diode to my set-up so that my low beams will not extinguish when I activate my high beams.

I just wired mine last weekend after putting in the smiley's 6 months ago, cause pot holes in Cali were getting the best of me so I wanted more light when high beams were on. I used these pics as a guide, and it worked perfect. Took all of 5 minutes. Not sure where i sourced these from, i think r3v site... its been so long. If need be I can take pics of finished product..:gotcha:

The link that you posted was to a r3vlimited thread that explains how to jump the high beam relay. Ryan Stewart took the following photos, and explains that he drilled holes in two terminals of two different relays in order to achieve jumping the high beam relay.

The following are Stewart's photos that anm32nv was attempting to post earlier. The first photo shows the location of the relays that need to removed in order to install the jumper wire:

Note that the holes are drilled at the top of the terminal such that when the relays are installed in the fuse box they allow the fuse box cover to be installed correctly. If the holes are drilled too low, then the relays sit too tall in the fuse and will not allow the fuse box cover to be secured to the fuse box. Unfortunately I can't identify which terminals Stewart soldered together since I don't have the relays in front of me, however you if you remove both relays from the fuse box and orient them the same as he has in the photo you can figure out which terminals you need to drill into to solder in the required jumper wire.

Yes, which is why I would never jump a relay. I just posted the information above for those who were interested.
