Yes, yes he did. And that still confuses me a little. Anyway, it's all about finding the right person. You're absolutely right, there could be someone out there.

There are actually two awesome looking e30 m3s for sale in the For Sale forum.

one of them is local to me and i've been following his rebuild over the last year...I would buy that car in a heartbeat...

and the white one looks and sounds awesome...and for that price is a quite a deal..

after having just spent $10K on an E30 M3 plus another $8K or more on repairs and track mods..to see these two cars come up for sale absolutely makes me wanna bang my head against a wall...

i have seen the ranges and was wondering what you all think a car's worth is with an excellent interior and engine, but passenger side looks to have been hit. Panels are straight, but paint is average in the rear passenger quarter panel and passenger door, mileage is relatively low. Thank you for the input

I just purchased mine two weeks ago in Atlanta, GA. I think that I got a great deal; it was a 1989, totally stock with 85,000 miles. The guy was asking $7500 and threw in a set of '99 M-Contour wheels and sport springs for an extra $500. It needs paint, but not horribly, so Im gonna keep working on it!!

Yep thats the one, saw it on Turner's site and flew down 2 days later. Awesome car, still needs a few bugs worked out. I got the iigomotiv chip and EVO airbox, still contemplating A-N, it's so easy to drop money on these things!!

You don't need to tell me that...

$5K later I'm still trying to get mine to run right.

yeah I know where that one is and have struggled with the idea myself, I'm leaning away from it just because of that damage, seems like somebody did a sub-par repair on what could have been a very sweet car

I figure what it will cost to undo the repair and then make it right puts the price beyond my view of it's worth

Haven't you been looking for a long time? Like a year or close to it? Maybe try asking around to free up something local. Many M3s trade hands without being advertised.

I quit looking for several months, I've narrowed it down to a handful, most of which aren't being advertised. I don't have to own one right now, so I can afford to be patient.

btw, I made another post that didn't show up as an adder for my previous response:

My previous comments above are just my own, uninformed opinion. Somebody else may feel exactly the opposite about the situation. Each person has to decide what is best for yourself

I am in the same boat. I do not need one immediately, however, low mileage and well maintained with the exception of the repair has made it tough to pass up. The cost of unduing the botched repair job(putting the cost close to $20) and not knowing what actually happened concerns me.

I bought my '90' M3 in November of 2003, paid $16,500.00 Cdn (about $12k Usd.) The car had a number of problems, broken sway bar links, bad brakes, leaking windshield, and major electrical problems, but inspite of them, the good out weighed the bad. The car had 211,000km. (131k miles give or take) and like most M3's had been thrashed pretty good.

Good points....the engine had been recently rebuilt and seems very solid. J.C. chip, ported and polished head and intakes, EVOIII cams, Hartge suspension and wheels with Kumho tires.

So far I have replaced the front sway bar links, reinforced the rear sway bar brakets and replaced the links. New pads and rotors all around. Car came equipped with an aftermarket daytime running light module which was causing most of my electrical problems so it has been trashed.

As far as I am concerned it has been money well spent and wouldn't trade it for the world. Heading down to Mid-Ohio next weekend for the Vintage races so this will be it's first major outing.

I PAID 16K FOR A 1991 WITH 46K MILES ON IT. THE CAR HAD A SMALL OIL LEAK AND THE REAR SEAL ON THE TRANNY WAS LEAKING BUT THE LEATHER AND EVERYTHING ELSE IS PERFECT. AND I LOVE IT!!!
