Paid $1700 for mine. She was sitting in a barn covered with old moving blankets. It was through a friend of my fathers. The guy originally said I could have I for free than changed his mind. 176,XXX on the dash with a rebuild about 50,000 ago. Just dropped around 5K into her and she's a beast now. Super find. I'm blessed
Do you have any pictures of it when you found it, to now? That would be cool to see!

just bought mine for $16k with 101k miles. alpine/black. super clean. PO had it for 10 years ! it needed a few things but nothing major... i mean wiper blades and things like that. Im happy with it.
That is the price I paid for mine. But with more mileage. That is a good find. Show us some pics.

I just bought my US spec '88 with 66,XXX miles on it for $15,000
Had been sitting for about 7 years, so I had to pump $4k into it to get it going.
Still probably needs $2k in stuff (tires and a fuel pump that I think gave up the ghost last night).

I think I will win this price competition. I paid $39,000 for my 1988 Diamondschwartz Black US Spec M3 with 36,800 on the odometer. From enthusiast auto, absolutely babied, has just been service (where everything was checked/replaced). Paint is pristine except for some rash below the front air dam. Original paint, original panels original absolutely everything. They actually still have it up on their website. I kept on hesitating everytime I saw a nice one up on their website and it would be gone pretty quickly so I finally jumped on this one. There is not one thing this car needs. My bank account needs a major overhaul though.

Congrats! Enthusiast has some high prices, but they always seem to have genuinely high quality vehicles. In this instance I think you did well![]()

Yes, the pictures up on their website did not do justice to how this car looks close up. My wife saw it when it finally arrived and didn't want to get out of the M3. The thing is a beaut! I was considering refinishing the front lip due to the scrape (you can only see it if you get down on your knees), does anyone think that would NOT be a good idea? Would it affect the uniqueness of the car?
Bought mine for 9k. Drove all the way from Los Angeles to San Francisco and took a risk and purchased it without knowing much about the car or having someone to inspect it.
Diamondschwartz, clean title, 181k on the odometer, 105k on rebuilt motor. The car pulls strong, but it needs various gaskets and seals, a paint job, and various interior pieces and misc items. Body is completely straight, pretty much ready for paint. Came with fresh GC coils.
I envy those who have found these in running condition for less than 6-7k.

Just over $23k for mine, one owner 78k on the odo been stored for 11 years. Price was higher than average but the interior alone made it worthwhile due to NLA parts.

I think you got a STEAL!! There was one here in Oklahoma that sold for $30k that looked exactly like this one. Same color combo, similar miles... http://www.s14.net/forums/showthread.php?t=45547
Really nice sub-100k mile cars are getting into the $30k range for sure. Nice purchase (I'm jealous)!!
