that's pretty bad, shows you what we can expect in the near future, instead of more competition we get less and less factory involvement on top of the recession

Wait until the new season for the F1...
one upside to this is that w/ all the cost cutting in motorsports, maybe one day we can pool our money and run a WRC or F1 team. ha!
This decision kind of reflects the direction the current WRX has gone becoming bloated and less focused.
There'll be Spandex jackets one for everyone ...The lastest iteration of the WRX is actually quicker than the STi. More daily driver
worthy. Throw in a suspension and some beefier brakes and it'll run better than the
STi on the track. Once a car goes mainstream, then the perfomance aspect usually
goes out the window.
Will see how these withdrawals from motorsport will affect future development of cars.

That really is disappointing.
I wonder if Ford, Chrysler, and GM are going to pull out of NASCAR......
Wow, I just read that Honda just canceled the upcoming NSX and Chrysler is shutting it's plants for 1 month. Porsche and Audi are out the ALMS, Subaru and Suzuki are out of the WRC and Honda drops out of F1. I wonder what's next? Scary times ahead...
Ken
It's surprising that Subaru withdrew from the WRC. I would have thought that would have been a fairly economical class of racing. I guess it wasn't paying off in sales.
Want to make NASCAR, Indycar and F1 more economical and far more interesting? Force them all to use production blocks.
