Sonny that fight was beyond boring. I laughed at the match up from the very first announcement that Shane was in the running to land this fight. First of all we all knew Shane was going to get it because that is what top rank does. They recycle shot fighters and shove them down the public's throat and charge you $65 to watch.

Everyone I know who follows boxing knew tonight's fight had very little potential to be interesting. This goes to the point I've been making for years now, Top Rank and the rest of the Pacquiao team always match him up with fighters that do not deserve to be there. How can anybody defend this match up? really think about this… why is our so called Pound 4 Pound king fighting a 40 year old man who has not done ANYTHING in almost 2 years since rd2 vs mayweather? why didn't he fight Marquez tonight? they gave shane tons of money, you mean they could not work out a deal with Marquez? thats the fight every boxing fight wanted (beside mayweather). But no they wen ahead and fought another spent force, they didn't fight a great fighter last night… they fought a great resume. A fighter who's last good moment was over two years ago and was able to beat a game Antonio Margarito. After rd2 he looked like crap vs Mayweather and was beaten very easily. What does last night prove for Pac fans? that pac is better then Sergio Mora from the TV show "The Contender" who gave Shane hell and fought to a boring draw?… give me a break.

Now if you really break the fight down and think about it. Shane did what he was supposed to do, you see how if you don't stand right in front of Pacquiao you pretty much take away his plan which is to overwhelm you with punches. Why do you think Juan Manuel Marquez gave him so many problems… because he gets out of there and resets himself. The problem was that shane could NOT pull the trigger… he threw 60 power punches the whole fight…. thats 5 per round… come on…. this is what you get for $65 of your hard earned money?

But also now you have our so called pound for pound king in there with a 40 year old spent force of a fighter and Manny can't cut the ring off? he still can't do that… he fought in spurts and barely took advantage of the fact shane could not fight going backwards.. and barely did anything.

In my list and unless he looses I have Sergio Martinez as P4P #1. Like I said before Im a boxing fan not a Pac-man fan. I want to see good fights, competitive fights not watch a young 32 year old in his prime multi division beat up washed up weight drained non deserving fighters. In my opinion I haven't seen a good pac-man fight in years since he fought JMM in the rematch which many people including myself felt he lost.

You mention the fight with Mayweather… Im telling you like I've been saying all along that fight will be boring as well. Mayweather will win by also taking away manny's aggressiveness but will do something shane did not do tonight and that's pull the trigger and counter him all night. Styles makes fights and Mayweather is too defensive and manny can't cut the ring off. 8rds to 4rds Mayweather and Im begin generous.

What he has done for his people is great, nothing against that. He is surely a great humanitarian and I applaud that. Now thats great you're a fan of his and thats totally cool but greatest fighter I've ever seen? not even close. Manny is very one dimensional, when it comes to pure boxing skill he is way behind many greats like sugar ray leonard, Floyd Mayweather, Willie Pep, ray robinson, Marquez, pernell whitaker and so on. All those fighters are better "boxers" then Pac. Now he is up there when it comes to "exciting" boxers and that is not what I talk about.

He has captured the audience and has been a great fighter for his fan base. See I for one Im not on his bandwagon. I get pissed and the crappy match making his management team make and how protected he has been since they decided to explore his strengths and protect him from his weaknesses. While doing do they are wasting his prime by doing nobody any favors by matching him up against washed up fighters like De La Hoya, Margarito and now the latest tragedy a shell of a fighter in Shane Mosley. Does it tell you anything even HBO didn't air this fight? the pound 4 pound king is fighting and HBO is not showing it…. yeah sounds like they're hip to the crappy matchmaking.

The last two years have been really disappointing in my opinion as a boxing fan. To match him against David Diaz the worst lightweight champion in the history of the sport instead of Casamayor the true Lineal champion at the time then to match him against an old man De La Hoya and making him cut to 147lbs when he barely made 154lbs in his previous fight and looked like crap, then fighting Cotto instead of Shane Mosley who was ranked #1 welter. Shane begged them for a fight and they turned him down but instead fought Cotto who was coming of a beating from Margarito…. Now I can keep going but you see my point? they have protected him from anybody they feel could give him problems and matched him up against washed up fighters coming off horrible losses and would stand right in front of him giving Manny no angles at all.

Now you say he won titles at many divisions… many other fighters have done that and have won them the right away by beating the true champs at those weights. To prove my point lets analyze Pac's last title fight for the 154lbs title. First lets see who that title belonged to. That title was vacated by Sergio Martinez (2010 fighter of the year) who moved up to 160lbs to take on The Punisher Williams who he KOd. Now who did Manny take on to win this title? yeah Antonio Margarito… a washed up fighter who had no business being ranked at 154lbs, who's last fight was in Mexico which no TV in the US even aired. Before that he was brutally beaten by shane Mosley…. that is who Manny fought for the 154lbs title…… and Im supposed to respect that? Im supposed to be excited about that? they could not find anybody else? nope because Margarito is more Top Rank recycled crap, slow and would stand right there for Pac because he has ZERO defense and boxing skill. But when Sergio Martinez called him out for a fight all of the sudden manny is too small.. excuse this excuse that…. all the excuses in the world but really the only reason they want no part of him is because Martinez is actually a damn good fighter who would give Manny so many angles and actually pull the trigger unlike a 40 year old Shane Mosley… why aren't we watching that PPV? I'll pay $65 to see that. The 2010 fighter of the year vs the P4P champ, for the 154lbs belt? oh hell yeah! but no what do we get? 12 BORING and horrible rounds vs a washed up Mosley. We have a name for fighters who win titles by beating anybody other then the champion then not defending the title…. we call those PAPER champions.

Not convinced yet? then ask yourself this. Who was the last fighter manny fought who was coming off an impressive win? who has he fought who AFTER fighting Manny didn't retire or at least went on to fight at a high level… and please don't give me cotto because Margarito beat the prime out of Cotto with those loaded gloves… who does that leave? yeah nobody…. Clottey you can argue is in his "prime" but what has he done?…..nothing…..

I could care less his fans think he is the greatest ever but don't be surprised not everyone shares your opinion because it is far from correct. In my opinion he is up there with the greats in terms of capturing the fans attention kinda like Mike Tyson did and up there as an ambassador to the sport and a hero to his people…. BUT all time great boxer? for what? beating a bunch of washed up fighters? no way…. sorry.

And it goes on and on and on.....give it a rest...you dislike his accomplishments but why do you love talking about the PACMAN all the time? Dude if you fight against someone who only thinks of defense ala Clottey it will be a boring fight.

As boxers and boxing fans, I have to agree with yourbimmer. I like Pac but he needs to fight boxers that are good competition. In reality he would never beat De LaHoya, Mosley and Cotto. A fresh and young De La Hoya and Mosley would destroy Pac, but being almost forty these guys have taken some beating in their careers. Boxing for over 20yrs really puts a toll on your body and your head. lol. I just want to see him fight Marquez and Mayweather, if he beats those guys then he will really earn being the best p4p boxer in history IMO.

Look I'll leave it at this and we can move on to discuss other fights and exciting match ups coming up. The only reason I talk about him is because it's gotten to the point where match ups like the one on Saturday are hurting the sport. Anybody with any little bit of boxing IQ knew that choosing Mosley was a joke. A sick joke by Top Rank and the rest of that team. To sell this as if it was going to be a great fight is a farce. Sonny knows what Im talking about. We want to see fights that electrify the arena… I freaking fell asleep during round 6 on Saturday… the so called P4P champ is fighting and I fall asleep… you're going to have a hard time finding a bigger boxing fan then me and I freaking fell asleep and woke up middle of rd8. Pac fans had a blast on Saturday and Im sure it was a party but to the hardcore boxing fan and the casual fan it was a snooze fest. Don't tell me it was because one fighter was just thinking defense on Mosley's side… it was going to be garbage because Mosely is 40 years old and has looked like crap for two years. You think Sergio Martinez would have been in there running? hell no, he would have been in there giving Pac angles, countering, manny hunting and it would have been GREAT and an amazing night for all boxing fans. Not just for Pac man fans who would show up just to see him hit a heavy bag for 36 minutes.

I want Pac and the rest of that team to give me a day like I had on September 18th, 1999.. That was the day a prime Oscar De La Hoya fought a prime and soooo dangerous Tito Trinidad. That day was for me like christmas and my birthday all rolled into one. The fight was amazing and to this day I still watch it because it never gets old. That is what boxing needs.. the sad thing the fighters are here to give us that… but no, Top Rank wants to keep that cash cow and not risk anything. Bring on Zab Judah next… he gave Floyd four great rounds FIVE years ago.

So go ahead and cheer for your man, that is great I used to be the same with Mike Tyson back in the day. But please don't mention him in the same breath as the all time greats because his resume is full of holes. If anything you should be upset too because they're wasting his prime. Honestly if he and Floyd don't get together and soon they should just both retire… yeah whats the point. Either Manny or floyd fight each other or Sergio Martinez just retire… don't waste my time with garbage match ups that just sink the sport.

Now on to other fighters and match ups…….

Yeah Jorge Arce, great exciting little fighter. He always comes to fight. I had that fight dead even going into the last round. He is on the decline but showed he has much left. Either do a rematch or he should move up and face Vic Darchinyan again. Looking forward to that.

Did anyone catch that bullshit fight between mayweather vs Ortiz!?
Pure garbage. The whole fight looked staged. I guess money is our end all downfall...

I must begin by saying in all my years of watching boxing I've never been so disgusted with the result of a fight. This was a complete waste of time. It's a shame because even though Mayweather was on his way to a victory (even by a "normal" KO) this fight took a turn to one of the weirdest moments in Boxing history. First you have Ortiz the idiot headbutting Mayweather which is as dirty as it gets. Ok so he gets a point deducted for it, after that he begins hugging and kissing Mayweather a little too much. Then stands there with his hands down taking shots from Mayweather....... Let me say that what Mayweather did was not illegal but it was "dirty" in my eyes.... yeah it's "protect yourself at all times" but come on.... the guy just stepped away from apologizing and you light him up. Again Ortiz was an idiot, Mayweather was a coward and the ref was another idiot. You add all of that and you have a total waste of $70 PPV.

After the fight I felt sick to my stomach.... was this fixed? is ortiz this stupid? why did May hit him when he was just standing there right after an embrace? why was Ortiz standing like an idiot? so many questions... anyways who cares anymore. I wish I could unsee this fight..

"If I was 50 years younger I'd kick your ass"

Nothing to say about that one. Just shook my head a lot, everyone in the room exchanged looks of wtf. It didn't seem real.

The guy that interviewed him after the fight sure let him know that he was truly a piece of sh*t. Arrogant little sum of bitch that won't fight pac man because he's afraid of a real challenge.

He lost what was left of the seemingly smaller fan base last night.

Look guys, Mayweather is one of the biggest A-holes in the history of the sport. The guys is disrespectful, a has proven to be a HUGE coward in a bitch move by hitting a guy who just finished apologizing to him for fouling and is not looking.... If you're a Mayweather fan then you defend his actions by stating that boxing is "protect yourself at all times" and they're right... but it's a bitch move and always will be. It's not the first time this has happened in the sport but I guess not in this kind of stage where casual fans are watching and IT HURTS THE SPORT.... again and again.

Now hear this, I can't stand mayweather.. I've been looking for him to get KTFO since the late 90's and early 2000's... unfortunately guys he is a masterful boxer.. his defense is just too damn good. He is not going to loose to anybody his size or smaller. He will loose when he fights a bigger guy who has a superior jabs..... Hurts me to say it since I can't stand him and wish Ortiz was not a moron and at least tried to win but Mayweather is not going to loose til either he gets old overnight or fights a bigger man who can neutralize him with a jab. His shell defense, superior countering and movement make him so hard to beat. Dammit!!!!!!

Heard on the radio that Pacman is now willing to take the olympic style drug tests.
    Can anyone confirm this?

Maybe Vince McMahon directed it, looked like WWF to me Thought that round 4 was pretty interesting Ortiz being aggressive....then PBF saw an easy way out and capitalized...WTF was Ortiz doing apologizing for like 3-4x? And the kiss!
