Mayweather shouldn't be allowed to box anymore... he is disrespectful to the sport... its all about money for him... unfortunately after he is gone and Packman is gone there is nothing else left. I would rather it be gone than listen to Mayweather's garbage. I wish someone did kick his ass!

The fight was about to get good that round it seemed, Ortiz woke up and Mayweather found himself running instead of the guy doing the leading.

Ortiz did head butt him and cut his lower lip, someone with remorse knows when they made a mistake and tries to apologize... Which is what it looks like Ortiz was trying to do. Mayweather is good at keeping his elbows across the corners of the ropes so you can't get too close, Ortiz looks like he got frustrated because he couldn't finish what he started because of that.

That's what I was thinking, I think for the first time in awhile he was uncertain if he was going to be able to pull one off. He was up on the ropes getting tagged. The butt, then the easy way out. Pac man has reportedly offered any sort of testing mayweather wants but I think he will dodge it because he's a legend in his own mind and only wants to fight people he thinks he can beat. He's trash and gives the sport a bad name

I just hope that Mayweather fights Pac Man. Its not going to be what Ortiz or any other clown that Mayweather has fought. Pac Man will take the fight to him and FM defense is not going work very good with Pac.. I want to see pac knock this clown out..

    Mayweather vs Ortiz sucked
    Hopkinss vs Dawson sucked
    Linares vs Demarco was awesome
Donaire Vs Navraez.. did Navraez just come to the U.S to get paid? The guy didnt want to fight..

I cant wait til Pac vs Marques at least we will see a good fight even though Pac will win.. Margacheato vs Cotto should be interesting.
Khan vs Peterson looks like a good fight.

This is just terrible... screw everything about this robbery. JMM won at least 8 to 9 rounds. If you believe Pacquiao won then you're just blind, he CLEARLY LOST. Im so done with this crap. THis is just the most horrible robbery Ive ever seen. It was not even close. Marquez gave Pac a boxing CLINIC again! this man worked hard for this. Everyone knows who won and that is JMM!!

It's hard for me to say this, but he was really out boxed. I don't like how he took it as well.

This all night, such masterful countering and combination punching. This fight was rigged from the get go, too much to loose if Pacquiao looses. Lot of money will be lost in a mega fight vs mayweather. I heard everyone saying how Manny was going to walk through JMM, how he is so much better then 3 years ago. He got schooled and everyone knows it.

Boxing keeps rushing to oblivion. At this rate, the sport won't be big enough to be in Vegas in another few years (maybe sooner with decisions like this!).

I agree with you guys about last night's fight. Marquez was the clear winner to me and the 200+ people that were in the place that I watched the fight. "They" didn't want to ruin the prospect of the Pac vs. FM fight, which taints it all in my eyes--especially considering that that one might not ever happen anyway.

    Sigh...

I watched this fight with a few s14 members in SD Cali and JMM was the winner. The only thing that hurt him was that he gave up in the later rounds. Similar to what happened to Oscar De La Hoya vs Trinidad.

I watched the replay, you will see why PAC did win. Though JMM had cleaner shots, he was like 1-2 connects and that's it, he should have been more busy. PAC touched him more and was bringing him the fight. From a judges point of view you see that as a positive in the ring. The thing is, everyone wanted to see PAC KO or stop Marquez. People had been used to seeing him not get hit as much so everyone watching gets very excited.

I think PAC was sort of frustrated because JMM usually attacked more in the two previous fights. Yes, JMM sort of back pedaled his action in the later rounds which caused him the close fight. The judges had lots of experience with one calling at a draw. Lederman also saw it that way. I am a big fan of JMM because he is a warrior.

Come on Bing, you know he lost. Everyone knows he lost. Even the Filipino news thought he lost: http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/video/anc...rquez-analysts

I know he is your favorite fighter and all but don't come with this, ah if you watch the fight again with the sound off or whatever you will see why he won. We all know why he won, he won because of the mega fight with Floyd Mayweather. If they would have declared him the looser which he was then Floyd would say 75% - 25% split in Floyd's favor.

Bob Arum was not going to let Marquez mess up the $100 million dollar fight. Look at the tweets of all the boxing community. Please don't tell me they're all just "haters":

    Pobre Márquez lo robaron!

    Marvin Hagler "Disgusting result! #ROBBERY!"

OscarDeLaHoya "I'm still sitting on my couch in disbelief. Paquiao cannot compete with a counter puncher like Marquez. Juan has the Patience to wait and capitalize on mistakes. I think this shows how superior mayweather is."

Andre Dirrell "Ok after this fight, I don't know what 2 think! Did JMM just have a good night, or did Pacman put on a great possum show 2 get MW! U TELL ME. GO GET YO GLOVES ON AND COME WHOOP THIS DUDE!!!! PACMAN CAN'T SEE YOU!!!"

Terry Norris "Wow! Thought PAC man would win. But clearly Marquez was robbed again. PAC did NOT win this fight."

Omar Henry "Wow I just watched Pacquiao get beat and Marquez get robbed!!!! and yes I was one of the people in the crowd booing the robbery!!!!"

Rashad Holloway "I'm team Pacquiao all day but Marquez won this fight hands down. Sad to see how politics run this sport when fighters work so hard."

Anthony Mundine "I luv PAC too...but he lost fair & square...but I'm sure he will return stronger...PAC v Marquez 4 #bringit. Actually I change my mind! Marquez deserves the pay day v money!! As he was really the victor! Don't think I wanna see 4. Even tho money."

Erik Morales "Nos robaroooon y feo. Marquez total reconocimiento es el segundo mexicano que le pone en su madre a pacquiao, gano y gano muy bien felicidadees!" Which translates to English as "They robbed us and it was an ugly robbery too. To Marquez total recognition, he is the second Mexican to beat the sh!t out of Pacquiao, he won and he won nicely. Congratulations!"

Kendall Holt "If u thought Pacman won or if Marquez needed the 12th to win its clear u don't know ish about this sport."

Peter Manfredo Jr. "Wow, after watching this, I better not leave it to the judges next week!!!"

Marquez gave Pacman so many fits that in the late rounds Manny looked confused. For a judge to give manny all the middle rounds and score it 116 - 112 in favor of manny is a straight up insult to the sport. Screw everything about the decision. I can watch this fight 30 more times, with one eye closed, with the volume off, with the TV upside down and there is NO WAY in hell I can give Manny 8 rounds. No way! I scored the fight 8 rounds to 4 for Marquez. I gave Manny the first round cause he was slightly busier but for a judge to tell me he found 8 rounds to give him on Saturday night is a HUGE stretch.

Pac lost, we all saw it. What you saw on Saturday is what I've been saying for years now. If you don't stand right in front of him and give him angles you have nothing to worry about. On saturday he could not follow up with anything big, please show me where he had Marquez hurt... please cause I missed it. He was supposed to walk through Marquez, a 38 year old blown up lightweight.... instead he got countered all night.

Now good luck with Mayweather, a bigger, stronger more defensive and better counter puncher then Marquez.... if Saturday night does not make it clear to everyone that Floyd will win then nothing will.

There should be no rematch... what for? what does marquez have to do to get a Win? even if he knocks manny out they'll call it a no contest. Give me a break, Bob Arum is a bum and is hurting this sport to line his pockets. If you actually care about Manny you would hope he leaves Top Rank. Arum will milk him for all he is worth and then throw him to the wolves to cash out.

Yet another fight that ends up hurting the sport.... boxing is going to end up on the Versus Network on tuesday nights at this pace.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. aide: No megafight

The latest round of negotiations for the potential megafight between welterweight champions Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are over before they have even begun.

Leonard Ellerbe, one of Mayweather's advisors, and Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer both told ESPN.com Monday that they were notified that Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank was not interested in coming to the table.

"We have been informed that Bob Arum is not interested in pursuing a fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao at this time," Schaefer said.

Mayweather knocked out Victor Ortiz in his return to the ring after 16 months off in September, and Pacquiao eked out a controversial majority decision against rival Juan Manuel Marquez in their third meeting Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

That set the table for the showdown that looms as the biggest money fight in boxing history, especially with Mayweather announcing two weeks ago that he planned to return May 5 at the MGM Grand and, according to Ellerbe, wanted to "make the biggest fight possible and everyone knows what that fight is, the little fella (Pacquiao)."

However, that does not appear to be the plan Arum and Pacquiao have, even if they had said they were open to it before the Marquez fight.

Schaefer said the notification came in an email from retired federal judge Daniel Weinstein, the mediator who has worked closely with the sides to settle numerous lawsuits and issues in recent years.

"I am sick and tired of Bob Arum twisting the truth. It's another case of 'yesterday I was lying, today I'm telling the truth,' " Schaefer said, invoking Arum's most famous quote. "The truth of the matter is that we received this afternoon an email from retired federal judge Daniel Weinstein, who has informed us that Top Rank is pursuing a rematch with Marquez and, therefore, is not interested in immediate talks for a possible Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. This is obviously as clear as it can be that they have no intentions of making a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. Therefore, Floyd Mayweather will have no other choice than to move on and identify and lock in another opponent for his ring return on May 5."

Schaefer said the plan was to use Weinstein to help them make the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight because he is trusted by both sides and intimately familiar with the problems between the rival promotional companies.

"Judge Weinstein is respected by both parties and mediated issues between Top Rank and Golden Boy before, so the plan was to see if he could help facilitate such a fight. Floyd's team really wanted to get this fight done," Schaefer said. "If you just sit down with Arum, he can at any time have one of his fits, one of his 'f--- you' attacks, and the likelihood that he would have a 'f--- you' attack in front of a retired judge seemed less likely than if Arum and me would be alone in a room."

Arum told ESPN.com that he knew nothing about an email and claimed that nobody from his company had communicated anything about making -- or not making -- a possible Pacquiao-Mayweather fight.

But Arum did say, "We are pursuing a fourth fight with Marquez. As far as doing anything definitively, we aren't ready to do anything definitively. When we are ready to make a determination of what we are going to do, we will do it. We are not going to do this in the press. We will do what is in the best interest of ourselves and our client and make a decision when it's time to. If we decide we want to do a rematch with Marquez, there is no reason to sit down with Mayweather. If we want to explore a Mayweather fight, we will sit down with them. But I'm not going to sit down with them just because it's a good show."

Ellerbe was just as upset as Schaefer was.

"In my opinion, you have three cowards -- Bob Arum, (Pacquiao trainer) Freddie Roach and Manny Pacquiao," Ellerbe told ESPN.com. "Now we all know the truth once and for all why this fight hasn't been made. It should be clear to everyone that they don't care what the fans want, especially when Floyd is ready, willing and able to fight Manny Pacquiao now. Floyd said if this isn't clear, he doesn't know what is.

"All along we know why the fight isn't being made. This is the perfect opportunity. Both guys just fought. This is the fight the fans want to see, and it's a disgrace that they are not willing to give the fans what they want. In my opinion, there are three reasons why Arum doesn't want the fight. He knows there is no way that Manny Pacquiao can win, it kills his cash cow, and he wants to do in-house fights where he controls both sides. I said all along why this fight hasn't been made to this point. Manny Pacquiao knows, Bob Arum knows and Freddie Roach knows."

Ellerbe said he and Schaefer would begin exploring potential May 5 opponents for Mayweather.

"We have a number of options, and we will evaluate that and give the fans the biggest fight we can give them," he said. "But before we can get started (on a Pacquiao fight), Top Rank doesn't even want to listen. They're not even interested in Floyd Mayweather. They want no part of Floyd Mayweather. They have no interest in the little fella fighting Floyd. Manny Pacquiao needs to stand up, in my opinion, and tell his promoter that he wants to fight Floyd Mayweather next and stop hiding behind his promoter."

Ellerbe said Mayweather (42-0, 26 KOs) did not watch as Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38 KOs) turned in a shaky performance on Saturday night because he was making a paid appearance at a nightclub in Virginia. Mayweather came out of a 21-month retirement in September 2009 and fought Marquez, dropping him in the second round and winning a near-shutout decision, a far more dominating performance than Pacquiao has had against him in any of their three bouts.
