Hahaha good one, pac prooved himself? i dont think so and get your facts straight Williams BEAT margarito and Margarito is done while Williams is one of the rising stars of the sport. You right though, the fight everyone wants is PBF but williams can make welter and he is calling him out already:

    http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=32966

And a hater is someone who bases their opinions about a fighter on pure B.S.
I on the other hand only say your man has a longs way to go before I call him "great" or even name him in the same sentence as the true greats of boxing. Sorry but beating a bunch of worn out fighters like De La Hoya and such does not impress me at all... damm didn't Steve "2pounds" Forbes give De La Hoya hell at 154 right before?

You want me on the Manny bandwagon? well if he beats PBF then he gets my upmost respect. If he fights a live Body like Berto, or Williams then I give him respect... but no they're going to go for 40 year old Mosley who fades after 4rds.

And you're more then welcome to pass by Church Street Boxing downtown, we're there discussing all sorts of matches and you will see that in boxing beating 40 year old men when you're in your absolut prime does not get you greatness.

I'm not talking any crap about Roach or the wildcard cause he actually trains a friend of mine who I used to train with but choosing a 40 year old man to fight instead of a live body and saying his "ribs and wrist" hurt is a bit lame.

BTW Im not discussing this fight/fighter anymore. There is a really good fight this coming weekend and then the weekend after that. We're moving on to those now.

I think you know how I feel. Im a boxing fan not a pacman fan. I want to see really good fights on PPV. So if they announce 40 year old Mosley as the opponent I know you will be happy and I will think is B.S. if they announce Berto, Williams or Martinez or even any top of the division guy will be cool with me.

Don't hold your breath on PBF and not for any other reason then the fight is not big enough yet. I say this is a 40 million dollar fight right now, next year it will be 50+.... it is obvious that is what is happening here, they want it to get really juicy then they will fight. So till then back to regular s14 business :-P

Yeah indeed, I mean he did what he was supposed to do. I thought he would KO that guy in 3, glad he got that out of the way earlier. I think a fight between Berto and Mosley at this point would be a good measuring stick for him. Mosley is solid for a good 4 rounds then he fades away. Is coming off two fights:

1-versus mayweather landed a nice right hand early. Got too hyped up over it and was too tight. Mayweather proceeded to outbox him and beat him to the punch for the rest of the fight

2-versus Mora he looked gassed, it was a boring fight but Mora was just running around and mosley could not catch him.

Overall has not looked good since the Margarito fight nearly two years ago. For Berto who is a young strong up and coming fighter to fight an all time great who is on a decline would be great. Good to see Berto did call out the top guys in the devision after the fight. We'll see whats next for him but the training wheels need to come off already.

UNFORTUNATELY it seems like Mosley is the leading candidate to land a fight with pacquiao....... honestly this fight would not only be terrible it's getting to the point where it's frustrating as a boxing fan.

Mosley is the biggest name on the list thus would generate the most $$$ because the average PPV buyer hears Mosley and they think it's the Mosley from 10 years ago that is fighting......

Good fight between Katsidis and Marquez as well. Action packed fight, Katsidis came in with the right game plan. He needed to apply pressure and make it a phone booth fight so he had a chance to win. There was no way in hell he could outbox Marquez. He had some good moments specially the left hook when Marquez was just there admiring his work and left his right hand down.

Marquez was ripping him to the body throughout the fight. That slowed Katsidis down to a crawl by the 9th and the Marquez continued to rip him with combinations. Good stop by the ref, Katsidis was out on his feet.

So the fight I think would be a good fight would be Marquez vs Pac at 140lbs at the most. If they offer him the fight at anything above that he should turn it down. Honestly I think they have unfinished business at 135 but we know Pac is not going to make that weight. So if the fight is at 140 it becomes a more even fight, if it's not then Marquez is at a great disadvantage because he does not put on weight well, he looks very very sluggish. This fight needs to be made soon. Marquez is nearly 40 years old.... the only reason he is still fighting well is because back in the early 2000's guys like Barrera, Morales and Naseem Hamed wanted nothing to do with him because he was such a high risk low reward guy. SO while those guys beat the prime out of each other in wars Marquez remained pretty fresh. But time is running out on this hall of famer....

In a perfect world these guys would do whats best for BOXING not for whats best for their bank account...... one can only wish.

Jr. Welter weight fights on HBO were disappointing.. I cant believe Ortiz couldnt finish Peterson and Amir Khan couldnt finish Maidana when they had the chance.. The bantamweight fight on Showtime were much more exciting to watch..

Really? how can you be disappointed by the Khan VS Maidana fight? that to me was a damn good fight. Skill wise Khan has all the tools to have beaten Maidana by a land slide but he made it more difficult on himself. Maidana is a superb puncher, slow as hell but he has huge power and that round 10 was a miracle for khan to have gotten out of it. If Maidana was just a bit more skilled and could put more punches together he would have had the KO. The overhand right right from RD1 was the key for Maidana.
With that said I do like Khan but that chin of his is something to look out for in the future. His hand speed is amazing and showed heart last night.... I think from now on they will baby him a bit more. Remember he was the one who chose Maidana, I think from now on they'll go on an easier path. Look to maybe them picking Zab Judah at 140. I think Khan will outgrow 140 in one more fight or so. I do know Berto would KO Khan if they were to fight next.

Ortiz is another one who I question his heart. Last night he could of won by KO but did not want to commit the same mistake he made when he got KOd by Maidana. Good fights I thought...

Get ready for more fights that hurt the sport. Why anybody not blood related to these fighters pay $65 to watch this is beyond me. So many great match ups available yet this garbage gets made. This is why MMA is gaining so much on boxing:

Pacquiao-Mosley a bad fight for boxing

From day one, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum had an agenda when it came to making Manny Pacquiao's next fight. He wanted to match him with Shane Mosley, and that is what he did, and he doesn't give a damn what anyone thinks.

He knows Mosley is an aging fighter who doesn't have a great chance to win, but he has a big name that general sports fans recognize, even if they don't realize he is not the same Shane Mosley of just a few years ago.

Arum doesn't care. He only wants to do what is best for himself, certainly not for boxing. He is going to put Mosley in the ring with Pacquiao soley because of name. It's a move that will squeeze out the last gasps of Mosley's once-outstanding career so Arum can generate another big payday while doing a disservice to real boxing fans who actually care about the matchups and not just a famous but faded name.

Forget all the nonsense we've heard since Pacquiao beat down Antonio Margarito, about how Pacquiao's next opponent was going to come from a list of Mosley, Juan Manuel Marquez and Andre Berto.

The real list was more like Mosley, Mosley and Mosley. But Arum had to include a couple of other names so he could leverage Mosley into believing it was a competition and, therefore, drive down his price. Mosley is desperate for the fight after being beaten almost as badly in his recent divorce settlement as he will be by Pacquiao, who should have put his foot down and demanded a better fight. Make no mistake: Pacquiao is culpable here, too.

Arum knows this business as well as anyone and knows how to play people. He played this one to the hilt, talking about how he was going to solicit term sheets from each of the three potential opponents and then bring them with him to the Philippines for a meeting with Pacquiao to go over the offers.

Before leaving, Arum declared that it would be Pacquiao who would make the decision, not him. Arum, a master manipulator, collected the term sheets, went to the Philippines and did sit down with Pacquiao, but he had his own agenda the entire time. Arum wanted Mosley even though (or, rather, because) Mosley looked like an old man in his past two fights. He is 39 and couldn't pull the trigger at all against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in an embarrassingly one-sided decision loss in their May fight. He hurt Mayweather in the second round and never threw or landed another meaningful punch the rest of the fight. In September, Mosley fought to a putrid draw against Sergio Mora, an opponent a younger Mosley would have pummeled into submission with ease.

A one-sided loss and a draw in an awful fight is not supposed to be how you land a fight with the pound-for-pound king and the sport's most popular fighter.

Remember, in the immediate aftermath of the eyesore draw, Arum concurred. He said he wasn't interested in matching Mosley with Pacquiao because of how bad he looked against Mora and because he was almost 40. But that, of course, was when Mosley was still with Golden Boy Promotions, Top Rank's bitter rival.

Now that Mosley has declared himself free from Golden Boy and negotiated the deal directly with Arum, he's just perfect for the fight.

This should not shock anyone because apparently, as Arum once famously said, yesterday he was lying but today he is telling the truth, about whom he wanted Pacquiao to fight.

Arum even had the audacity to suggest that a way to sell the fight was based on the fact that Mosley is black, because some of boxing's lunatic fringe have been critical of Pacquiao for not facing any African-American opponents. Never mind, of course, that when Pacquiao was tearing it up from flyweight to junior welterweight, there weren't really any top contenders or name opponents who were black. And keep in mind that the No.1 black fighter, Mayweather, doesn't seem to want any part of Pacquiao. But why let a good storyline get in the way of reality, right?

I almost can see the way the conversation Arum had with Pacquiao went down in the Philippines last week when Arum presented Pacquiao with the three term sheets, knowing all along he wasn't going to take anyone but Mosley.

Pacquiao: I think I'd like to fight Marquez.
    Arum: Did you say Mosley?
Pacquiao: No, Marquez. We have unfinished business and we had two great fights.
Arum: Did you say Mosley, or did I hear you say Miguel Cotto for a rematch?
Pacquiao: Well, maybe Berto. He's a good, young fighter. He's very fast.
Arum: Mosley, that's what I thought you said.
Pacquiao: Bob, I think I definitely want the third fight with Marquez. That's what my coach, Freddie Roach, wants. That's what the fans want. That's what I want.
Arum: So if it's the fight with Mosley you want, then the fight with Mosley it shall be.
Pacquiao: Lock up Marquez, please. Let's get it done.
Arum: Fine, we'll get Mosley, whatever you say. You're the boss. Someone get me James Prince on the phone so we can lock this up.

While Arum was getting Mosley and his adviser, Prince, on the phone, boxing fans around the world were reaching for a barf bag.

As a former amateur boxer and boxing fan, I agree with you 100%. I really wanted to see another Pav vs Marquez or Pac vs Berto.. I think thats what most boxing fans wanted to see, but you are right about Arum.. Its whatever he thinks is right and how he wants it done... Boxing has really gone down hill in the last 10yrs and MMA is going in that direction as well.

Whats really frustrating about all of this is when Mosley was actually ranked the #1 welter after his impressive KO of Margarito when Margarito was one of the most avoided fighters in the sport almost 2 years ago, Mosley BEGGED roach for a fight with Pac and Roach came back with some BS asking Mosley if he can make 142 for god's sake.... but yet they fought De La Hoya at 147 and instead of Mosley they fought a shot Cotto and made him cut down to 145 when he could barely make 147. Now that he (mosley) has looked like crap and could not even pull the trigger against Mayweather after RD4 NOW they're going to fight him.

Hey if they want to sell this crap as a tune up then fine then put this on regular HBO not charge $65 PPV and try to sell it like this fight is competitive against a 40 year old man, this is beyond lame. So many better match ups, like you said Marquez, Berto, the winner of Alexander - Bradley next month or hell how about Martinez at 154... isn't pac a 154 belt holder? oh wait I forgot he wins titles but never defends them.

What does it proves if he beats Mosley at this point?......NOTHING. Arum is selling garbage and any real boxing fan should not buy it. If you really have nothing to do that day and want to watch it then just find a stream online and watch for free, don't support this trash specially when better fights could have been made.

I know you watched Khan vs Mc whatever his name was and Berto Vs Oriz.. Khan was gonna win the fight but the ref and the doc were a joke.. I couldnt believe that crap by them, it shouldve continued. But Berto Vs Ortiz was just amazing, I know you have said that Ortiz doesnt have the heart but boy did he surprise Berto tonight. I would get a better trainer if I was Ortiz and then he can really become a Vicious fighter. he has the speed, power and the heart.. I think he will destroy Khan if he fights the way he did tonight.

I want to see a rematch between Maidana and Ortiz asap. Oh did you see the crowd booing PBF. lol

Khan vs Mc whatever was a joke, that fight should not even be on TV. Can you believe Khan wanted this trash to be a PPV in the UK? not only was it not a PPV but it ended up on like sky Sports 3 which is like the British ESPN 3, probably came on after world series of poker... Anyway it was just lame to go from fighting Maidana in a great fight to fighting this guy last night. Khan said in the post fight interview, he said Mc whatever is an Euro class fighter while he is a world class fighter... I just screamed at the TV "THEN WHY ARE YOU FIGHTING HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE!!"

After that RD10 vs Maidana they're going to protect Khan like you have no idea. Bradley is probably next and he does not have that kind of pop to hurt him. He could maybe outpoint him since Bradley does have nice boxing skill but not the power to really put Khan on wobbly legs like Maidana did. Maidana was one shot away from putting Khan out.

Don't look for a fight vs Ortiz, I would be really surprised if they put him against a big puncher. In my opinion he should of fought Prescott last night, avenge that KO lost but I guess a light hitting no name Irish guy is a better idea then a guy who destroyed him in a matter of seconds. Those kind of fights hurt boxing... very lame. Step up your game Khan!

Now Ortiz really amazed me last night. He came in looking HUGE, I mean I knew he outgrew 140lbs a while ago but that was amazing. Berto had no legs for the first half of the fight but had a bit more pep and bounciness during the middle rounds and was able to get to Ortiz. I found it really interesting how Ortiz was able to take Berto's power and keep coming forward. Kid showed a lot of heart.... he channeled vintage De La Hoya last night. Two weeks in a row fighters show me a lot more then what I thought they had. First Erik Morales shows the tank is not empty.. I would not say he is back to his form of 2001 or so but surely has a few good fights left vs the right opponents.

Before we get too crazy about tonight's fight. Let me just say that tonight is nothing more then charity. Shane has no chance other then a puncher's chance and that is early in the fight. This fight if it was going to happen should of happened over 2 years ago when Shane still had a little bit left.

Let me make this clear, this fight does NOTHING for Pac-man in terms of legacy. He has nothing to gain by beating a spent shell in shane mosley but everything to loose if shane gets lucky with a solid body blow.

With that said I think Shane still has some tools to make the fight interesting. His speed even though it is not what it once was should still give Pac-man something he has not seen much before. His last fight was against Margarito who moves like if he was walking in heavy mud. The key is EARLY, shane has to bring it early and hard. Pac just has to take shane to deep waters. If this gets passed the 8rd Shane needs to call it a career.

Should be good early. Not worth $70 IMHO but yes to a free stream link. Enjoy the fight!

fight was kind of boring to be honest. It looked like Mosley was running around wasting rounds, kind of look orchestrated IMO. I just want to see Pac vs Mayweather. If Pac wins then he should retire while he is at top..
