    depending on the condition of your car I wouldn't mess with a second hand door.
    Most M3's which are broken for parts are in bad condition, otherwise they wouldn't be broken up.
    But it's like everything in life, if you want to do a job properly it's £££££'s

    When I checked new doors were still available from BMW (£325 ish). But I was told that they didn't have all the internals bits to match the electric window mechanisms so they wouldn't fit etc. Is that true? And would it look right?

    I bought a new door a couple of years ago and it wasn't that much.

    When a new door is supplied - all it will have is the aluminium reinforcement bar, nothing more. The electric window mechanism mounts to the inside of the door shell, not to any attachments.

    You could even use a std door - but would need to fill the holes that will be there to mount the side moulding. Do-able push come to shove.
