  1. #1 Bigazzi/Pirro 92 DTM M3
A short film by Josh Purcell about the first outing of the Emanuele Pirro '92 E30 M3 DTM. This was filmed last month at the NZ Festival of Motor Racing at Hampton Downs last month.

It was a bunch of firsts, the first time the car had been raced in nearly 14 years, the first race since a major rebuild/restoration, the first time I had ever raced the car, its first public outing etc. etc. So you will have to forgive me if my driving was a little "cautious"! But it was still a lot of fun.

Big thanks to Josh for the awesome job on the production.

I simply can not imagine what that must have felt like the first day out. Such an accomplishment on your end, and a big day for the car not having raced in nearly 14yrs. I'm not sure who would have been more excited. You, the car, or the fans.

    Congratulations my friend. Nice work.

+1. Nice work. Looks like all the hard work paid off.

Also, I like the spin of think the Cosworth in the first corner. Looks like it was a little close for comfort.

    Great work!

thanks guys, I must admit it was fun!

Yes that spin was rather "unfortunate"!... I saw it all unfolding beside me, and straightened the wheel out a bit to stay wide.

I had just been chatting to the driver of the Zakspeed Escort (starting just in front of me) about starting "tactics" We both decided we would stay out wide at turn one, as it was usually faster, and much safer out there, avoiding the concertina that usually happens on the inside line. Glad we had that discussion

Great to see an enthusiast reaching what must be their dream.
    Well done!

Have you a photo album that we can look through?

I really enjoyed that. The story and roll call at the end was very informative for me.

    Thanks and Congrats!

Thanks guys, and yes it is certainly a dream car for me! I have a reasonably detailed photo album of the whole build process on my parts website, which you can find here:

Great to see it restored to original condition and used as it should be. I have driven a similar (Cibi Emme 91 Car) at Circuits in the UK, and they are just the best fun you can have with your clothes on!

Great work, the car is a credit to you! :cheer:
