You'll get a sweet coolant odor, steaming up on the windows, take your drivers side floor mat out and check for coolant. Also there's a drain under the car near the tail of the transmission, it's a really small rubber grommet that sticks through the body. You'll see coolant dripping from there if your leak is bad like mine was. Additionally you can remove your center console, it will reveal your heater core and heater control valve, check them for moisture...
See the dark color under my new core? It's from the leaking old core...

I installed and wired my 16" SPAL puller fan. I also cleaned up my underhood wiring... it needs a little more trimming but I like it so far..

Walter,
S50 or S52?
Valve cover: S52 valve cover with M50/M52/M54 valve cover nut cover caps
Intake Manifold: S50
Block w/ no crank position sensor at rear: S50
Cast Exhaust Manifolds: S50
Your sig says: S52
Cyl. head w/ 2 sensors: S50
Doesn't matter obviously, just noticed your sig and went huh?

Bad pictures of my Hella yellows... I'm waiting on a few little items so I can wire thecity lights etc. I've got to get my euro plate on the front to hide some of that fugly bumper...

Good eye but it's an S52... the original setup was really done poorly, the goal was getting it running and clean up stuff. The original block that came with the car was .020 over. My JE pistons were standard size so I used an S50 I had located and bored it to an S52. The head was really trashed but was salvageable with alot of welding and machine work.
Anyone that has met me knows that I am a stickler for details and doing things right, (my right that is). After getting the engine rebuilt and sorted I decided to redo the exhaust. The one in the car was cobbled together and a real mess. I enlisted the help of SPD in Rancho Cordova whom we've done business with before. They ARE the premier exhaust manufacturer, they supply prebuilt sections and flanges to the aftermarket automotive industry.
The exhaust is all hand TIG welded SS with vbands in 3 sections. The muffler is a Rogue El Diablo and the cats are Walker OEM replacement units.
I'll be building different center sections with no cats, some with resonators etc for the track.
The exhaust is absolutely amazing.. no drone and it's quiet until you open her up and then all hell breaks loose. SPD did not want ANY welds in the system but theirs so they used special cones for the cats and replaced all the tubing on the mufflers, it's a shame it has to be hidden under the car.
New downpipes with flanges were built, all the bolts can be readily removed:
Custom X with a wideband bung:
Notice where all the tubing is routed and how tight erverything is:
Custom hanger uses all the OEM mount points:
Rogue Engineering El Diablo muffler compliments all the hard work

My anthracite carpet came it... once it's professionally cleaned I'm tearing the interior completely out. What's going in is a modified EVO interior with Recaro's

The suspension was very noisy so we reinstalled the swaybars. It was a little better but was still pretty bad. I removed the old offset trailing arm bushings and welded in AKG camber/ toe eccentrics, subframe and differential bushings. New calipers pads and rotors were also fitted front and rear.
out with the old:
In with the new:
The differential spent some time in the parts washer and received all brand new seals.
I aligned it around 9pm an drove it home... it's nice and quiet now!

Wow! Great job and quickly as well. If I do not rebuild my S14 this is the route I would like to go.
Did you have to modify your transmission tunnel?
Is your coolant reservoir on the left of the engine?
Hmmmm no traction in first! very nice!
