    That's not a bad idea...

I had the entire set, including the crank pulley and they looked great but the only one I could really justify was the p/s pulley... so I sold them off.
Very true..It wasn't the money that i was worried about..I figured i could dress up the engine and gain a pony or two while i was at it you know what i mean?

Blast the stock ones and have them powder coated a sexy color or some fresh zinc...

I don't know if your a/c still works, but I think i gained more "power" from shaving weight by getting rid of all the a/c components, swapping the fog lights for CF ducts and CF hood (in total @100lbs.) than installing the pulleys.
    Rich!

I would actually like to see someone come up with a modern serpentine belt system (with automatic tensioning) for our cars. V-belts that have to be manually tensioned are so.....1980s. Too little tension they slip and drive you nuts....too much tension they break and wear out whatever they are spinning....

I ran those VAC pulleys on my 320is. I like them. Bought another set for the M3. They're nice pieces. Even at lower revs (street) I never had an issue with the alt or coolant. Temp didn't move at all for me.

Jake, do you have any pics of it installed?

It has been done.... But not the auto tensioner. All my pulleys are Micro Vee style. My build is incorporating a custom built steel crank pulley with timing teeth on the back and a new harmonic balancer. I have a DTM style water pump pulley, the power steering pulley will be off an E36 and I'm fitting a modified Honda alternator with a bigger, 80mm, pulley. I'll get some pics when I get a chance. The crank pulley isn't cheap, but if you want to go standalone I think it's a very nice piece of gear.
