I have gotten a quote from Pertsch and Partner GmbH for around $1.43 shipped to the US each. They are chrome. It seems to be the best price but before I pull the trigger I wanted to know if anyone knows of a company in the US that would sell the same bolts for around the same price? I am just looking for bolts only. I have the screws.

They are chrome. I have a new set but I wanted to mirror polish my rims sooner or later and want to have a set around before I do it.

    Thanks.

How many do you need? I may have a full set (four wheels) that was chemically stripped and zinc plated. Nuts and bolts are plated.

Lee I have a new set. But they are not chromed. I wanted another set that are chromed to match the mirror polish I will doing to the lips. I don't think zinc plated will be shiny enough to match does that sense? I can get my bolts zinc plated locally for cheap.

They are not chromed originally. I think they are nickel-plated and cleared. I prefer zinc plating.

Lee thanks for the reference pics. Let me think about it. Pm me a rough idea of what you want for them if you don't mind. Thank you.

Nick Long time no speak. Hope all is well. Black forest doesn't sell this bolt for some odd reason. Mostly RS bolts. I managed to score a new set of 18's staggered style 5's. I have a set in 17's and now 18's. Going to run 225/35/18 and 255/35/18 based on your recommendation of running 35 series. They had 255 in stock so I took them. Probably a little wider than I should but the fenders were rolled i figured why not. Car will be out of complete respray this Friday. Will drive around on the original 18's until I decide to polish the lips. Might do the 17's first and then move on to the 18's.

Thats pretty cheap. Are you sure that's USD and not euros? Have you considered having them re-chromed locally? You should be able to get them done for 75 cents or less per bolt. I decided to try a nickel finish. I just dropped mine off this afternoon pre-stripped and should have them back on Wednesday.

Einstein - it is USD. He sent me an email for confirmation on a Pro-Forma quote. He had to have my US address to give me final price.

The problem with any local company and I have called most of them is that they want to charge for the wiring of each bolt to chrome. Most wanted at least $3-$5 each!

I was hoping to find a local company for around $1.00 each since they will be chemically striped of clearcoats/paint from the original factory process.

If you could please post pictures of them nickel plated I would greatly appreciate it. I will not pull the trigger yet. Thank you.

For bolts, you don't want zinc plating on a wire as it leaves spots were the wire was. Industrial process is done in a barrel. After the stripping and zincing, bolts are cleaned and then baked for several hours in order to regain their strength at graded 12.9. Wether you have 150 bolts or 10,000, the same minimal charge applies. It is not cheap.

If you want to ship me your bolts i can drop them off for you. You should soak them in paint stripper first to get off all the clear coat.

The nickel has a warmer tone then chrome or mirror polished aluminum. It was the look i wanted but you may be happier with chrome. I just did not want the bolts to out bling the lips.

Einstein - that looks great. Wasn't sure how nickel would turn out and that turned out pretty good. Were they poslished before you sent them in? Or where they the standard bolts that came with the Style 5's without any additional polishing?

I was told to try to find Tin-Colbalt Barrel coating but not many will do the small jobs either.

The shine on your nickel ones will work. I am not looking for a perfect match but I didn't want the stark contrast between the zinc plated and mirror polish that I am going to do.

Do you mind in a PM what they cost and where I can ship to them? Where are you located?

    Thanks for the updates!

They were soaked in paint stripper to get off the clear and then vinegar to get off the factory zinc coarting. They were in pretty good shape to begin with so i did not do any prep work. They polished and plated them.

Thanks for the PM. Mine are new On one set and very good on the other. I will do the same process as you did before i ship them. Please post pics when you are done with assembly. Are you torquing them to 20-24lbs? BBS told me 12-15lbs in new bolts. Didn't give advice for used ones. Sure for liability reasons.

I'm going to go with 15lbs. A buddy of mine tried 25lbs and snapped 2 of his powder coated bolts. I figure if its good enough for 3 piece wheels then it should be more then enough for 2.
