Did you ever find out which is the right one? I need to overhaul the suspenstion and thinking to go with a Z3 conversion as well. Looking to buy the part.

Don't go by the part numbers. I went through 3 racks before I got the real 2.7 L-L rack. You need the one that's 51.5mm per rev IIRC.

I did it myself. It was part of a oil pan gasket and baffle / cross member cleanup / coilover install. Had to do it twice because the first rack had sloppiness in it on center.

There prices are good and they are knowledgable about BMWs which is a big plus in my opinion.
