TMS Carbon Fiber Front Bumper
Roughly a 22 lb weight savings. Not bad considering it's hung way out on the front of the car.
The Evo III Venturi Undertray weighed in at 5.8 lbs and the CF splitter was 1.9 lbs. For those interested. Gustave |

TMS Carbon Front Bumper
Does it still fit on to and over the original Fibre Glass beam ?
Or does it have fixing blocks so that it can be bolted straight up without the need for the 'Tyson' beam ?. Regards, The Gorilla. |

This bumper would have to be painted. It is not suitable to polish up and drive around showing off your cool carbon fibers. Since I plan to paint it this is just what I wanted. This is not just a cover. It is a bumper and cover integrated into one piece. It bolts right on to the chassis. It will not meet any 2.5mph crash standards though, one good hit and it's in a million pieces. Since I've not run into anything or anyone in 26 years of driving, I figure I should be ok for a while. Be prepared to do some prep work before painting. None of the cut-outs are there, to leave them up to the end user. Not yet sure how the turn signal lights will work, but I'm sure there's a way. All in all I recommend it. It is a proper use of carbon fiber. Gustave |

I wonder how well those carbon fiber units stand up to being bounced occasionally off the street on speed-bumps or dips.
No matter how carefully I drive my car, I still seem to have those "issues". |

well if its not street worthy and cant take a hit, then why compromise?
why the carbon look when it will be painted? the original is even lighter, has no bumper, uses 2 mounts (mounted in place of the old bumper shocks) with pins for quick removal. then you have the issue of which undertray, venturi, splitter what ever you like to call it gets mounted, with or without winglets etc. particularly if you want to use an undertray that closes the entire bottom end off. just my 2 cents since Im installing above with full undertray and winglets. for me , track car will benefit from cf bumper bigtime! but for street or everyday car and living/driving on the streets/aveneu/boleuvard/turnpike/parkway/expressway of NY, I bet, it won't last for months or years.. but that CF bumper will be sweet for my car.. arvzs |
