Intake re-conversion help

Hi everyone,

What I have...
I just bought an 88 m3 with s14 with a CF AlphaN intake.

The problem...
The car came from NY to SoCal. I took it to get smog today and I was turned down. The tech said it was not legal to smog a mod car. I didn't know that, thought smog is smog as long as it passes. But I verified the news with a local shop and yes it's true.

Any possible solutions?
I'm looking to have this as a daily driver or weekend use but for sure not track it. Any suggestions on what re-conversion I should do? I'm pretty sure I will have to re-vert back to OEM intake. The folks at the local shop says that there's an air sensor he can swap out on the OEM to improve performance and it put me back to OEM status for smog. I will see him next week but just wanted to get some suggestions before I see him.

I would appreciate any suggestions/help that you can throw my way.

Do a search here for cars with this setup.

I really don't think that you need to change that setup back to stock for smog.

I have the following parts

(All of a 88 2.3L )

Regards,

Mike

There are a few members in Cali that have the setup. You should ask them how they
get their cars to pass.

Go to the Ghetto to get it smogged. Cars pass easier near grocery stores that accept WIC and Food Stamps.
